Terms of Service

1. About these terms

Furball Outdoor (outdoor.furball.fit) is a trail route database for Israel covering trail running, hiking, and mountain biking. The site is operated by Oren Rosenzweig (orenr@getcobalt.ai), the owner and the person responsible for the site's data ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. The service is provided as is

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or availability. We do not promise the site will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure. This section is subject to section 8 and does not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded under Israeli law.

3. Route data is estimated and may be wrong

Route information, including distance, difficulty, technical grade, ascent, water points, and season or heat ratings, is computed and estimated from open data. It is not field verified and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. See the Safety Disclaimer above. Your safety in the outdoors is your own responsibility, and you should not rely on this site as your only source of route or safety information.

4. Acceptable use

You may browse and use the site for route planning. Subject to the underlying open data licences in section 5, you may not:

• interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to breach the site or its infrastructure;
• use the site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others;
• misrepresent the source of the route data or remove or obscure required attribution;
• copy, scrape, or reuse the site's own presentation, layout, name, or original text, or the map tiles, in a way the applicable licence does not allow (the map tiles are NonCommercial; see section 5).

Reuse of the underlying open route data is governed by its own licence (ODbL) and is permitted on those terms, including commercial use, provided you comply with attribution and share-alike.

5. Intellectual property, licences, and attribution

The site combines several sources, each under its own licence, which you must respect:

• Route geometry and the route dataset are derived from OpenStreetMap ("© OpenStreetMap contributors") and are made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Any derivative database you create from this data must also be offered under ODbL with attribution.
• Map tiles are provided by the Israel Hiking Map and are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA). Their use is non-commercial and share-alike.
• Elevation data is derived from the Israel Hiking digital elevation model and is used with attribution to Israel Hiking, under the terms published by that source.

The Furball Outdoor name, the site's layout, design, and original text are our own work and are not covered by the above open licences; please do not copy them without permission. The site is currently operated on a non-commercial basis. Attribution to the sources above appears on the map and here, and must be preserved in any permitted reuse.

6. Your content (favourites)

You can save favourite routes. They are stored locally in your browser and, if you choose to sync, in our private storage keyed to a random sync code or to your Google sign in. You keep whatever rights you have in this content. You can delete your favourites, stop syncing, or sign out at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Third party services

The site loads resources from third parties, including map tiles from the Israel Hiking Map, fonts from Google Fonts, and, if you sign in, Google Identity Services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third party services.

8. Assumption of risk and limitation of liability

Outdoor activity in open terrain, including trail running, hiking, and mountain biking, carries inherent risks of injury or death. You take part voluntarily and accept those inherent risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of the site or from any activity you undertake in reliance on it, including inaccurate or incomplete route data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Israeli law, including liability that the law does not permit us to disclaim.

9. Changes

We may update the site and these terms from time to time. Material changes take effect when posted here, and we will try to make significant changes noticeable. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Israel have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you.
